WELCOME FROM OUR ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to ISS2020.
We have spent a considerable amount of time listening to the needs of the dance community in the past five years, and I am very pleased to be able to present our new program lineup for ISS2020. With a student-centric focus, our INSPIRE and ASPIRE programs are a wonderful way for students to come in contact with new styles of dance and to develop their skillsets so they can grow technically, artistically and creatively as young artists.
Our IGNITE program offers opportunities and pathways like never before. I was fortunate to have worked professionally overseas since finishing my studies in Australia. With this in mind, in 2020 we are offering pre-professional students introductions to some of the world’s most prestigious professional finishing schools. With our ACCESS program we are excited to be able to offer dance teachers the chance to observe and engage with our guest faculty in 2020. Details for both IGNITE and ACCESS will be announced in July 2019.
We all want to be inspired and I see my role as Artistic Director of the International Summer School as building bridges for young Australian dancers and dance teachers, to enable them to experience new perspectives and explore different global stylistic approaches to dance training.
We look forward to welcoming you to International Summer School in January 2020!
